Tesla on Thursday raised the prices of its electric cars in the U.S. again. The price changes affected Model S, X, and Y, with Model 3 unchanged.

Tesla held another round of price increases. On Thursday, it raised prices on Model S, Model X, and Model Y. The prices of Model S and Model X were increased by $1,000 each. The price of Model Y was raised by $250. Model 3 prices have not changed. Last week, Tesla raised the prices of its Model Y and Model 3 cars by $250 in the US. It also raised prices in China, Japan, and Canada. As of now, the prices look like this:

Model NameCurrent PricePrevious Price
Model Y$47,490$47,240
Model Y Long Range$50,490$50,240
Model Y Performance$54,490$54,240
Model X$98,490$97,490
Model X Plaid$108,490$107,490
Model S$88,490$87,490
Model S Plaid$108,490$107,490

Tesla said it will focus on sales growth rather than margins this year. The company expects to profit later from the software. The more cars on the road, the bigger the potential profits will be in the future.

Tesla has applied several rounds of price cuts around the world this year, making the company’s cars much more affordable. Raising prices for its cars now indicates that demand is very high. This is not surprising, since the prices of Tesla cars around the world have become very attractive even for those who previously could not afford to buy one.
