EverCharge, a provider of electric vehicle charging solutions, has announced it is adopting Tesla’s NACS. This means the company’s partners can now order additional equipment to be installed at their charging stations in order to attract owners who have NACS installed in their cars.
Tesla is the leader in creating a network of charging stations
Tesla has the widest network of charging stations in North America and worldwide. With over 10 years of experience with their Superchargers that have 20 billion EV charging miles, Tesla has the most proven charging connector of any automaker. It provides charging offering AC charging and up to 1 MW DC charging in one slim package. The Tesla connector has no moving parts, is half the size of others and twice as powerful as Combined Charging System (CCS) connectors.
Tesla unveiled the design of its charging connector and plug
In November 2022, Tesla opened the design of its charger to everyone. The company has invited charging network operators and vehicle manufacturers to install the Tesla charging connector and charging port, now called the North American Charging Standard (NACS), on their equipment and vehicles.
Today, NACS is the most common charging standard in North America, and the number of electric vehicles with NACS outnumbers CCS by more than twice, and Tesla’s Supercharging network has 60% more NACS posts than all CCS-equipped networks combined.
Major automakers adopt Tesla charging standard
In recent weeks, major automakers such as Ford and GM have announced that their next generation of electric vehicles will include an NACS port. This will allow the companies’ car owners to seamlessly charge from Tesla Superchargers without an adapter.
EverCharge announces the start of providing NACS to its partners
EverCharge announced Saturday that it is also looking to remove barriers to electric vehicle adoption. The company helps create the necessary infrastructure that provides convenient and affordable charging for all drivers. EverCharge said it fully supports the recent moves by Ford and GM. Therefore, the company will now supply charging solutions that support all vehicles, both NACS and CCS. Upon request, EverCharge is ready to provide NACS connectors, allowing its partners to install advanced charging equipment that meets the needs of current and future EV drivers.
