Emmanuel Macron plans to meet with Elon Musk on Friday. The head of Tesla will visit France to take part in the VivaTech conference. Many important issues are on the agenda: artificial intelligence, social media, child protection in social media, the automotive sector, and electric vehicles. The French President is also trying to convince the head of Tesla to build a factory in France.

“I am not meeting Elon Musk with hope, but with an agenda,” Macron told reporters on the sidelines of a VivaTech conference in Paris. Musk will also visit her in two days.

“We are going to talk about AI, social media, the regulatory framework, for social networks that better protect our children. And we are going to speak about the automotive sector and batteries,” Macron added.

The French president said he would advertise the country as the site of a future Tesla factory. When asked about the possibility of building a gigafactory for the American manufacturer in France, the president said: “It’s for the company to review possibilities for projects in Europe, and we’ll tout France and its attractiveness.”

In mid-May, Macron had already met with Musk. The head of Tesla visited Paris, where he said that in the future, the company could make significant investments in France.
