Elon Musk and Bernard Arnault met on Friday. The two richest people in the world were having lunch in Paris, where Musk flew to attend the VivaTech conference.
Bernard Arnault, the second richest man in the world, boasted on Instagram that he had lunch with Elon Musk, who is currently the richest man in the world. The men dined at the five-star Cheval Blanc hotel, part of the LVMH portfolio. Musk was with his mother, Maye Musk, and Arnault brought two of his three sons, Antoine and Alexander.
Arnault, 74, is the CEO and majority shareholder of LVMH, which owns about 75 luxury brands including Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co. and Christian Dior. His fortune is estimated at $197 billion. Until a few weeks ago, he held the title of the richest man in the world. Due to the drop in LVMH stock prices and Tesla’s significant rise, Musk is back in first place with a net worth estimated at $229 billion.
Musk visited Paris for the second time in recent weeks. He met again with President Emmanuel Macron and also spoke at the VivaTech conference.
