X is launching voice and video calls, as promised by Elon Musk. This makes the platform a convenient messenger that now competes with others in the market. Now users can call each other for free using the application.
X has introduced voice and video calling, which has been expected for a while after Elon Musk promised to provide it. Many users have already received an announcement from the platform of the new feature, and an offer to configure it in Settings. Some users have already shared photos and videos of them calling each other through X.
To set up this feature, users must go to the Direct Messages section of Settings and enable the feature. Here one can also specify which user groups can call them. Users can select people from their address book, people they follow, or generally all “verified” users.
The addition of this new feature makes X highly competitive among a whole group of different applications, including instant messengers. What is especially attractive is that users can call each other without revealing their phone numbers. This is a very positive point, as it potentially becomes much more attractive than many other instant messengers that exist today.
Musk has taken the next step in building the Everything App. As planned, in the future, X may become an analogue of the Chinese WeChat. On this platform, users can do everything from general communication to purchasing tickets for various modes of transport.
