Lucid Announces Tesla NACS Adoption

Lucid Group, Inc. announced Monday it is adopting Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS). The company said that starting in 2025, all of its vehicles built using the current Combined Charging System (CCS) will be able to charge at Tesla Supercharger network stations using an adapter. Additionally, Lucid will integrate NACS into future vehicles in 2025.

“Adopting NACS is an important next step to providing our customers with expanded access to reliable and convenient charging solutions for their Lucid vehicles,” said Peter Rawlinson, CEO and CTO at Lucid. “We believe that a unified charging standard, backed by the national rollout of future-ready higher-voltage charging stations, will be a critical step in empowering American consumers to adopt electric vehicles.”

At this point, most of the major automakers have already adopted Tesla NACS. These include such American giants as Ford and General Motors, as well as the German BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
