Tesla received a giant order to supply Megapack to Californian renewable energy company Intersect Power. According to the plan, approximately 15.3 GWh of Tesla Megapack will be deployed by the end of 2030.

Intersect Power plans to install 10 GWh of storage by 2027, with the remainder deployed by 2030. The batteries will be used in several of Intersect’s solar and energy storage projects. The contract is valued at about $3.5 billion, but exact price details have not been disclosed. More than half of the order will be used in four battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in California and Texas.

The use of Megapack is necessary to help improve grid stability and the integration of renewable energy sources. The agreement adds to Intersect’s 2.4 GWh of Megapacks under operation or construction, Thanks to the new contract with Tesla, the company wants to significantly expand its capacity. The first deliveries of Megapack are scheduled for next year.
