The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and the National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China announced that Tesla has received a “Vehicle Privacy Protection” certification. This means that all cars produced in Giga Shanghai comply with China’s vehicle data security standards. Tesla is one of the first automakers in China to receive this certification.

China is known to have very strict data privacy standards. The fact that Tesla was able to obtain the certification so quickly is a major achievement for its China team. This is important because more companies and government agencies will now expand their purchases of the Giga Shanghai-produced cars. In the future, this will also be an additional positive factor that will help to obtain permission to launch Full Self-Driving Supervised in China.
