Tesla Hires More Than 1,000 Employees to Expand Semi Production

Tesla is hiring more than 1,000 new employees at its Nevada factory in preparation for the start of mass production of the Semi trucks, according to Business Insider, citing people familiar with the matter.

Earlier this week, Tesla announced on YouTube that the first electric trucks will begin production at its Gigafactory in Sparks, Nevada, by the end of 2025. Production capacity will then ramp up to 50,000 units per year.

According to the report, until recently, only about 100 people were working on the Semi. However, the number of employees and production volumes have been growing in recent months. The new hires are currently undergoing training.

Tesla’s website currently lists about 100 positions related to Semi development. They include a wide range of different areas, from testing and maintenance specialist positions to engineering and quality assurance positions.
